The barque Peru takes the following passengers for London : Mrs. Salt, and 2 children, Messrs. J. W. KitcUing, and O. Bailey. She ia expected to sail to-day. 'ihe barque Eist Lothian, which proceeds to Newcastle, takes as passengers Messrs. C. Canning and John Mathetvaon. The yacht being bnilbbyMr. LogaD, North Shore, is of excellent workmanship, and for finish has seldom if ever been equalled in Auckland. Several gentlemen, well competent to pass an opinion on the subject, who visited her on Saturday, speak of her in terms of unqualified praise. Her dimensions are 40 foet over all; keel, 34 fset 6 inches; hold, 0 feet G inches ; beam, 9 feet G inches : and she will measure about 14 tons. She is built on the diagonal principle, has three ekina, and will be coppered. The boat was built to the order of the Fijian chief K.ata Lila. She will be ready for launching about a fortnight hence.

The s.s. Glenelg arrived from Taunncja on Saturday morning, with the following cargo, —307 sacks mnize, 50 sacka potatoes, 29 pigs 4 bundles skins, 3 casks tallow, 3 sacks gum, 2 tins sundries. She returns thither to'-morrow afternoon.

The brigantine Ethel, when passing the barque Loch Doon, on Saturday, kept toa close ta her bow, and coming in contact with the jibboom broke it in two The shock must have been very powerful to break such a heavy spar. The A.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Southern Cross leaves for Fiji, at 9 o'clock this morning. Tho following passengers have already booked : —Mosdames J. The brigantine Ada C. Owen, baa been chartered through Messrs. Hutchinson and Gordon. She proceeds to Whangaroa to load with timber for Adelaide; thence she will go to Mauritius.

The s.s. lona arrived from Russell and Northern ports on 3aturday morning, with the following cargo: - IGS sacka gum, 5£ tons chain cable, 16 sacks oyoters, a quantity of iron work, and 5 tons sundries. She returns thither at 5 o'clock this afternoon.

The Union S.S. Co.'a s.s. Hawea was unable to come up to Onehunga yesterday, as the Bar was very bad. She will probably get in at an early hour this morning. The New Zealand Shipping Co.'s ship Rakaia left Gravesond for this port on the 12th May, with 80 passengers. The Firth of Tay wae expected to leave about the 28th, and the Loch Cree on Juns 24.

The brigantice Oceola is loading at New York for this port. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE OF THE P.M. h-.S. CITY OF SYDNEY". The P.M. s.s. City of Sydney arrived from Sau Francisco and Honolulu at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, after a fine run. She only made a short stay at Honolulu, and did not cammunicute, with the shore. Simonson, junior, for files, press parcels, i'.c, and the following report : —Sailed from San Francisco, June 4th at 2.43 p.m.; discharged pilot at 4.39 p.m.; arrived at Honolulu, Sunday, June 12th at 12.58 a.m., and sailed at 5 a.m. same day, landing passengers and mails only at Honolulu, no communication with the shore ; arrived at Auckland, Juno 26th, at 3 p m.; had moderate winda and rino weather until within COO miles of Auckland, thence to port strong gales from W.N. W. to S. W. accompanied by violent squalls and much-rain; have on board 75 tons of cargo, 362 packages of mails, 10 passengers in cabin, and 4in steerage. She resumed her voyage to Sydney this morning. ARRIVAL OF THE SHIP HALCIONE, FKOM LONDON. Messrs.Shaw, Saville, aud Co.'a ship Halcione arrived from London on Saturday morning, after a pleasant passage of 09 days. It is almost three years since the Halcione visited this port last. She has still the same commander and chief officer, viz., Captain Parker and Mr. Jenkin. The Halcione brings nearly fifty passengers. On their arrival they presented Captain Parker -with an address, in which it waa stated that he had at all times endeavoured to make them as comfortable as possible, and that his unceasing efforts to promote their happiness had contributed very successfully to while away the tedious houre. Dr. Mountac, the ship's doctor, also was generally well liked. Having some powder on board, she anchored at the powder gronnd, but will probably come up the harbour to-night. Captain Parker reports : — Left East India Docks on March 17, but was detained in the Channel for seven days, owing to the adverse weather prevailing. From the time of getting clear until meeting with the N.E. trades, squally weather was experienced. The trades proved moderate, and the Equator was reached on April 22, G6 days out from London. Were becalmed in the Equator for six days, when the S.E. trades were taken up, and thoy proved .-good. Thence to the Cape, which was reached on May 16, light baffling winds. Good running was made from thence to Leuwin, the trip occupying 19 days. Were again becalmed when off Tasmania on June 9, until last Sunday, when some very heavy weather was experienced. The wind was blowing northerly. The lightning during the storm was really terrible. From thence until sighting Three King 3 on Thursday afternoon, rough weather, accompanied with thunder and lightning, was experienced. Thence to port equally and unsettled weather prevailed. Two deaths occurred on the passage, viz.: Mr. Swain, a gentleman aged 25 years, of consumption, on May 20; and Kenneth C. Hudson, aged 8 months, of inflammation of the bowels, five days previously.
