TO TUP. EDITOR. SIR, —The erection of largo three and to:;r storey buildings points to the provision being made for escape from tire should sueh a necessity arise. Hitherto the small class of buildings and immunity from loss of life at fires has tended 110 doubt to render the authorities indifferent to providing •what might not be required, but that time has passed.
