Inwards Coastwise. —Kauri, barge, from Port Charles, with 34,897 feet timber ; Start, cutter, from Ngunguru, with 23,580 feet timber; Whangarei, cutter, from with 23,102 feet timber; Rangatira, cutter, from Little Barrier, with 45 tons firewood and 29 ship's knees; Lizzie, cutter, from Wangapoua, with 27,000 feet timber. Outwards Coastwise.—Start, cutter, for Ngunguru, with 10 cases spirits; Rangatira, cutter, for Omaha; Lizzie, cutter, for Wangajpona. The Union S.S. Company's s.s. Ringarooma from Melbourne, via the South and East Coast, moored alongside the Railway Wharf about noon yesterday, making the passage from Gishorne in 22 hours. We are indebted to Mr. Jones, purser, for Southern files. The Ringarooma is advertised to sail for Russell at 4 o'clock this afternoon.

The ketch Glimpse will proceed to Tairua to take in a cargo of timber. SIIO will then sail for Fiji. The TJniou 5.5. Company's s.s. Taiaroa will leave the Manukau for New Plymouth and. Southern ports at 3 o'clock this afternoon should the San Francisco mail have arrived in the meantime. The brigantine Ethel arrived from Lyttelton yesterday, with a cargo of grain and flour. The captain reports : Left Lyttelton on the 25th instant, and had strong S. and S.W. breeze, with high sea, as far as Castle Point, which was passed on the 27th; thence to East Cape, light northernly airs and calms, and light E.N.E. breeze from the Capo till arrival. The Ethel passed the brigantine Oamaru, bound north, off Cape Runaway, on Sunday. The barque Mercia, entered out at the Customs yesterday for Timaru. The ship City of Quebec entered out at the Customs for London'.yesterday. The schooner Waiwera will proceed to Aitntaki to-morrow. The s.s. Argyle left Tauranga at 4.15 yesterday afternoon, and should arrive in this port early •this morning. She will leave again for Tauranga to-naorrow afternoon. The s.s. lona sailed for Russell, with cargo and passengers, yesterday afternoon. The s.s. Lalla Rookh will sail for Waitara from the Manukau to-morrow. The s.s. Hero will sail for Sydney and Melbourne at noon to-day. The Union S.S. Co.'s s.s. TVaitaki will leave this port for Tauranga at 5 p.m. to-day. The schooner Makariu cleared out yesterday for Matakana with 11,000 feet kauri timber aud £ tons bonedast. ARRIVAL OF THE R.M. S.S. AUSTRALIA. The R.M. s.s. Australia arrived in harbour about 1 o'clock this morning. We have to thank Mr. Divid Dean (purser) for files of American papers, press parcels, and the following report of the voyage : —The R.M. s.s. Australia, Cargill, commander, left San Vranciacty on the 12th of April, and discharged her pilot at 7 p.m. (San Francisc# time). Moderate unsteady ■weather prevailed up to the 17th, and light winds with dull hazy weather up to the 19th. Sighted the Island of Oahu at 5.50 p.m. of this •date, and was boarded by the pilot off Honolulu at 10.10 p.m. this date. Cast off from the wharf at -0.30 on the following morning discharged pilot, at 6.55 experienced moderate wiud3 and fine clear weather up to the 23rd; squally weather with heavy and constant rain on this and the following day. Crossed the Equator in long. 165.46 W., on the 24th. Calms and light airs prevailed up to the 29th; squally weather with heavy pacsing showers on this date. Passed from East to West longitude on Ist of May ; atrß p.m. of the 3rd, Great Barrier abeam, and at 9.35 Little Barrier abeam, sighted the Tiri Tiri Light at 9.40, and was boarded by pilot off Auckland at 11.55 p.m. She will leave for Sydney this morning at 10 o'clock.
