After the report was read, a searching examination was conducted by the Archbishop on the subjects of algebra, geometry, arithmetic, geography, and grammar, the answers, as a rule, being correct. JBis Grace then pnt a few test questions, especially on algebra and geometry, and appeared pleased with the quick solutions given by the pupils. His Grace congratulated Fathers Downey and O'Gara and Messrs. Hamill and O'Regan on the success of the day's proceedings, and the marked progress the pupils had made since he previously examined them. He spoke very pointedly on the great advantages which pupils in this school had of being educated in the heart as well as tho mind, of being cultivated connectedly in religious and secular education. He concluded by hoping that on his next examination he would find still further improvements. He commended the pupils and pronounced the episcopal benediction, and then left the meeting. There was a large attendance of pupils and others during the proceedings, which were of a very interesting character. '
