[by telegraph, own correspondent.] Wellington, Wednesday. The Slaughter-house Amendment Bill, as pa3asd to-night, repeals clauses 0, 7, S, 9, and 10, of the Slaughter-house Act, 1577. The new clauses are as follows :—l. Establishing abattoirs, and licensing slaughterhouses, to be exclusively wuhin the jurisdiction of counties and boroughs respectively. 2. The council of a county may erect abattoir?, but at a distance of not less than one "and a-halt miles from borough boundary. 3. Save? existing rights. 4. In any part of New Zealand where the Counties Act U not iu operation, no abattoirs shall be established. Xo slaughter-house licence sliaU ba issued without tha consent of the local governing body of tie district in which it is to be erected.
