REWIAND THE GOVERMENT.
[BY TELEGRAPH, OWN' CORXESrOXDEST.] Alexandra, Wednesday. There is no truth in the report as to Rewi's alleged intention to i s .ol\te himself among the Kingites, or his reported references to the late and present Government*. When going up in the canos to Te Kuiti, he spoke of two parties in the Government, saying lie only kr.ew of t<vo parties in New Zealand—Pakehas and Maoris—and tbat it sras indifferent to him which Government was in power. He would ii )t have stopped at Major Mair's, it unfavourable to the present Government, nor would he have sai l that on his return he hoped to visit Major Mair it he meant to go aud isolate himself. The alleged saying of Rewi is simply got up for political party purposes.
