CARANDINI CONCERTS.

Tiieke was a good attendance at the Lomestreet Uall laat night, being the last of the short 3easoD over whioh these concerts have extended. The programme was very attractive, including sevtral operatic seleetions, choruses, trios, dutts, and charming ballads. The concert opened with a pianoforte performance, the music being taken from " Don Giovanni." This was followed by a sceua from the " Bride of Lammermoor" (Doniztti); the romance, "Didst thou but know," by Miss Marie Cirandini; the fine descriptive son;, "The Flying Dutchman," also "The Friends of Other Days," sua" by Mr. Gordon Gooch; " Why do I weep for thee," by Madame Carandini ; " O, Mio Ferrando," from "La Favorita," by MUs Maria Carandini, and "The Gipsies' Chorus," which c included the first part. The interval between the first and second parts was occupied in a manner which was very pleasant for those immediately interest-d, Mrs. J. E. Macdonald preseutiug the prizos to the young geutlemeu who won them at the recent contest of the Amateur Auckland Athletic Club. The names of the prizewinners have already been published, and they were severally complimented by the lady upon their success. Jhe second part of the concert compriHed selections from "The Boh-mian Girl," "The Harp that once through Tara's Halls," sung oy Madame Carandini; "When ye gang awa, Jamie" (duet), by Mr. Walter Kherwin and Miss Marie Carandini; " The Slave's Dream," sung by Mr. Gordon Gooch ; " Nevermore," by Miss Marie Carandini ; the quartette, " What Pleasure," and the laughing trio from " The Rose of Castile." The concert was a thoroughly enjoyable one. The popularity of the Carandini family seems to sutler no diminution.
