MnANAT.iiAr.i. — The following is the weekly report of tho mine manager :— Tunnel Cross-out South ha"? been extended 9 feat during the past week, through the reef Utvly intersected; the hangingwall part (5 feet thick) is all carbonate of lime, with .1 mixture of quirtz, and thera 13 a division, b-tweeu this and the qnartz reef, which is now cut into 4 feet; the lode ha-t every appearance of being largo an 1 strong, and is, 1 think, known as the Waiotahi big reef, or continuation of the Caledonian reef. Where intersected there is over 500 feet of perron liculir bieks. Daring the last few feet driven the. stone shows a promising appearance for gold, containing blotches of c.ipp-. r and well disseminated with nimidic. The stuff is now being stacked, and will shortly be tested at the battiry. The reef bsiug hard, and containing a large quantity of water, 1 expect we shall be another wc.-k cutting through it. A rise has been started at the tunnel level on No. 2 reef, east of lhe miin slide. This reef was formerly driven on 40 fe-.t from the south side of the funnel, and showed good indications for gold. In the rise the reef now looks well, being 2i feet t'-.ick. and containing a large quantity ef mineral, including antimony ; previous crushings from litre gave 3d\vt<. per ton. Golden Calf.—McCrae and party, who have a portion of this mine on tribute, have eruste.t two loads of general stuff, for the return of Sozs. ISiwts. of melted gold.
