The Na'iva Minister was questioned in the House yesterday about the reported disaffection of Rewi, and said he did not believe there was any truth in the statement that Rewi had made a violent change. To a certain extent he agreed with Mr. Bryce. Rewi has not made any great or sudden change, because he never was so completely dissociated from the K'ng pirty as manysupposed. ' He took upon himself the position of endeavouring to effect some arrangement which woul 1 be satisfactory tc the Kiogites, which would enable hiia to maintain his position, and he is readystill to endeavour to carry out such an arrangement if it can bo made. It has been dawning on his mind, however, that there are many difficulties in the way, and he thinks he may as well take up his residence for a ti s:e with Tawhiao. He does not go back to Tawhiao as a revolted subject who returns to his allegiance. We cannot believe that Rewi has gone into the interior because there has been a chance of Government. As to the rumour about Mr. Sheehan joiuiug the Ministry, referred to b\our correspondent, we clo not credit it.
