THE GOVERNMENT AND MR. T. RUSSELL'S CLAIM TO TE AROHA.

TO TUE EDITOR. Sir,—l would call Mr. Hesketh's attention to Mr. Shrimski's question again. Mr. Shrimski asked the Government for information. (He did not ask Mr. Itolleston.) Mr. Rolleiton replied the Government had recoived no intimation of the claim referred to. Whether Mr. Biyoe was in the Houseor not, makes little difference as far as I can see. No one for a moment wbo knows Mr. Elesketh doubts his veracity. The last was -..ailed a personal Ministry ; the present one seems to deserve the same title. I have always been of opinion that the sooner the "Native Depattment is swept away tho better for the progress of the country.—l am, &c, 150, Queen street. T. B. Hill.
