CRICKET.

WEST END V. AUCKLAND. By far the moat interesting and exci;ing match of the season was played oa Saturday afternoon last between the West End ami Auckland Clubs, on the Domain ground. The West End having won the toss, elected to take the wickets, and succeeded in running up the score to 6S runs. The feature of the innings was decidedly ia the batting of Arneil, who contributed the splendid ecore of 3G run?, not out, and obtained these by faultless, and the prettiest, exhibition of cricket that hag been witnessed during the season. Kobinson did great execution with the ball, taking no fewer than six wiokets. The iDninga of the Auckland team were very short; for, under the effective bowling of T. Maeky (who excelled all his former performances), one after another of the wicketa fell in rapid succession. Uobinson made a splendid stand, but was ill-supported, and consequently his exertions proved of no avail, though he succeeded in scoring 25 ; yet these were not sufficient for the purpose, and was at last prettily bowled by Macky, who took seven of his opponents' wickets, and amongst these four were taken in an over. The match, as it will be seen from the appended score, resulted in favour of the West End by IS runs : —
