THEATRE ROYAL: THE LINGARDS.
The "01(1 Bachelors" was repeated last night. It is scarcely possible to speak too highly of Mr. H. Lingard's acting as I'io-fess-ir Spirt. jSliss Lingard, as the young widow, is as elever, piquante, and effi.ctivc as usual. Miss Melrose, as Ada II I'C, improves upon acquaintance. She is P 1 0 * possessdi-g, graceful, and well suited to comc 1y parts. Mrs. FitzwiHiam fullils the exj e-ta'.ions formed of her. She is clever, and in the line she has chosen very etfeutive. All the parts -were well played, and the fun of the piece was elicited to the fullest extent. For this evening there is announced a " double bill"—tliocomedy "01(1 Bachelors," to be followed by an op ntta entitled "I Ladrone," or " The Robbers." We have every reason to believe that the com; any will be sivcessful in this line, which is not new to them. An iffioient chorus lias been engaged. The following are the principal nones f—" Bandits ara \Yo," "Sweet Angcius," "Golden Hun," "'ihc I-Oii'ly Traveller," "IJolloh, \\ liat s Tha 1 ", I au"hing sun« and chorus, "Slave take thy Kobe," "Hail to tlic New Captun,' "Joi-i the Army." The orchestra will be strengthened for the occasion. We bilieye the l-iugards have a series of light operas in t heir roucrto re, wliioli tlicy "will ijcrfcrni (luriug their season. Hiey have been liith'.*rt«) very successful in rendering pieces of this class. They have purchased the < opyright privilege of several of the best knowu and m<,st popular operettas.
