AUCKLAND RICING CLUB'S SUMMER MEETING.
The acceptances for the Auckland Cup and .S:eeplechaae closed last night in the most satisfactory manner, 22 crying a go for the cup, and the only non-acceptor cut of ten entrances for the Steeplechasa wa3 Eversley. It will be observed that local horses are threatened with a strong 1 team from the Sooth. Mr. Walters accepts with only two of his string, but our old j friend Ariel again corue3 into com- ! petition. Templeton is an acceptor, but | Mata declines. However, in the Cup there i is a large selection, so also is there in the Steeplechase; and eh-.uld the majority in either case me:-t the starter's eye, there will ht keen and anxious contests for both eventa.
