WANGANUI RACES.
[by telegraph, press association.] Wanganui, Tuesday. The Autnmn race meeting is fixed for tho 11th aud 12:h of March. Tbe following is the programme for the first day:—Hurdle Race of 50<ovs., weight for age; Wa-ganui Derby of lOOsovs.; Sapling Stakes of GOsovs., for two-year-olds, threequartcrs of a mile ; Wanganui Stakes Handicap of 100sovs. ; two miles, for two-year-olds and upwards ; Town Plate of 3050v8., one mile and a distance; Flying Handicap of 75sovs., one mile and a distance. Second day: Handicap Hurdle of 75sovs., two and a quarter miles ; Railway Plate of 50sovs., weight for age, one mile and a distance ; Wanganui Cup Handicap of lOOOsovs., second home to receive 20030V5.; third horse lOOsovs. from the stakes, two and a rjuarter miles ; Maiden Plate of 50aovs., one and a half miles, weight for age ; Distance Handicap of two miles ; Consolation Stakes of 30sovs. Nominations for the Cup close on the 30th Decemher, the weights declared on the 17th January, and aceeptances close on the 3rd February. £500 is to be spent in improving the grand stand.
