WRECK OF THE SCHOONER SWALLOW. [BV TELEGRAPH, PRESS ASSOCIATION.] BLIBNHEIII, Monday. The three-masted schooner Swallow, beund to Newcastle from Lytteltun, struck on a rock near Tory Channel on Saturday morning. She passed Cape Campbell at 8 p.m. on Friday night, with a, S.E. wind. After sailing 17 miles, she struck on s. sunken rock below the entrance to Tory Channel. At the time she etruck the capta.in was under the impression that he ttss off Cupe Pallisier. Everything was left on board, including £40 in money and the chronometer. They pulled southward at daybreak, and were met by whalers, who showed them tho Tory Channel. They then started for Picton. reaching that port at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and procured the harbour master's boat to proceed to the -wreck yesterday, and found the vessel broken in two. The vessel had been stripped by native wreckers, from whom the crew recovered their clothes, but lost the money and chronometer. WRECK OF THE BARQUE B.L. Christchurcit, Monday. A French barque, the 8.L., from San Franciseo to Lyttelton, with a cargo of 10.355 sacks of barley, consigned to Vincent and Co., Christchurch, went ashore at half-past 11 ou Saturday nij;ht on the beach at Brighton during a heavy S.E. gale. The captain had been unanle to get observations for three days when ho was driven ashore. Finding himsolf unable to get off, he cut aw.'iy tho fore rigging. Monday evening. The barque B.L. is ashore, about two miles south of Kniapoi. Her fore and mizen musts are gone, and mainmast standing, together with topmast and stump of topgallant mast. The tug went down to her to-day, but owing to the fenrful sea, was unable to go very close to her. The crew were saved. ENGLISH SHIPPING. Messrs. Shaw, Saville and Co.'s vessel Ironside, Captain Spencer, sailed from London for this port on May 3, discharging tho pilot off Deal on the sth. She brings the following passengers: Saloon: G. "The New Zealand Co.'s barqua Kildonan, for this port, passed Deal on May 4, with a full carajo of merchandise. The barque Lebu, from Auckland to London, arrived at Gra«esend on April 27, after a passage of 110 days. The ship City of Agra, 1074 tons, was tho next vessel of the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s, to follow the barque Kildonan for Auckland. The barque Don Guillermo, 599 tons, is announced as loading at Glasgow for Auckland and Port Lyttelton.
