The s.s. lona arrived in harbour on Saturday morning from Russell and Northern ports, with passengers and the followiag crrgo :—133 sacks gum, 20 bundles Bhingles, 05 sacks oysters, and a quantity of sundries. She will sail this afternoon for the same ports. The three-masted Bohooner Estelle sailed on Saturday afternoon for Newcastle, N.S.'W. The A.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Pretty Jane sailed on Saturday at noon for Gisborno, with a full cargo of merchandise. The N.Z.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Rangatira sailed from the Manukau on Saturday afternoon for New Plymouth, "Wanganui, and "Wellington, with passengers and cargo. The schooner Minnie HaTe arrived in harbour on Saturday night from Gisborne, with a cargo of produce, ic. The schooner Queen arrived in harbour yesterday morning from Hokianga, with a. quantity of bark, totara, and gum. She will load back for the same port immediately. The Union Co.'s s.s. Ladybird sailed yesterday afternoon for Tauranga and the East Coast ports, with passengers and cargo. The Union Co. s b.s. Taiaroa arrived in ihe Manukau yesterday afternoon, from New^Plymouth and Southern ports, with passengers and

Hayr, the purser, for late files and the following report:—The steamer left Wellington on the 26th at 4.30 p.m., and arrived at Picton the same night at 9.30 p.m.; sailed again at 1 a.m. on the 27th, arrived at Nelson at 11.30 a.m.; steamed from Nelson at 2 p.m., and made New Plymouth at 11.30 a,m. of the 28th inst.; and left again at 5.45 p.m. ? reaching Onehunga at 3 p.m. yesterday, coming under easy steam from Taranaki. Experienced moderate weather thoughout. The steamer will not leave until a few hours after the arrival of the English mails from San Francisco. The schooner Waiwera arrived in harbour on Saturday morning from Timaru, with a cargo of breadstuffs. The schooner, as we stated in a previous issue, met with terriffic weather—a violent N.E. gale—off the Kaikouras, breaking clean over the vessel, compelling all hands to take to the rigging for safety. The vessel has lost several of her sails and everything moveable that was on deck, but we are glad to state that no lives were lost. The schooner left Timaru on the 10th, and was in Hick's Bay for four days, as reported by the b.s. Pretty Jane, leaving there on Wednesday afternoon, and rounding Cape Colville on Friday, making the harbour as above. The s.s. Wallabi is advertised to sail from Onehunga aii 8 o'clock this morning for Wanganui direct. The barque Examiner cleared at Onehunga Customs on Saturday for Greymouth, and will sail with the first favourable wind. The schooner Prosperity cleared at the Customs, Onehunga, on Saturday, and will sail for Kaipara at once. Tho brig Wave, from Oamaru, may be expected in harbour to-day, as shj left Hick's Bay about the sau.o time as the schooners Minnie Hare and Waiwera. The P.M. s.s. Co's. s.s. City of New York having sailed from San Francisco on contract date, June 9, may bo expectod in this port tomorrow, or early on Wednesday. The schooner Hover sailed on Saturday for Whangarei and Parua Bay, with a cargo of timber and breadstuffs. The schooners Sea Breeze and Eona arrived in harbour yesterday from Russell, with coal. The schooner Saucy Kate arrived in harbour on Saturday from Gisborne, after a most prolonged passage, having to shelter in Hicks's Bay on moro than one occasion. Information was received in town on Saturday that tho cutter Three Brothers, a wellknown firewood boat trading to the Great Barrier, was ashore, and also tho old schooner Mary, somewhere near Coromandel. Both the vessels are well known in port, and have served their day and generation well. Our Thames correspondent says : —The steamer which Mr. R. Stone has on the stocks at his shipbuilding yards, Sbortland, is well advanced towards completion. She is being built to the order of the Thames Produce Convpana, and is intended for the river trade. Tho machinery is being made at Messrs. Price Bros, foandry, and will be ready for putting on board as soon as the boat is launched.
