Sharp, to present him with a small token of their regard for the gratuitous service rendered by him for many years past, in bringing their letters and newspapers from the Post-office. Mr. Sharp is a nurseryman, re&iding at Waikomiti, and from the nature of his occupation has occasion to visit Auckland once or twice weekly, and has at all times shewn a desire to oblige his neighbours. His friends, therefore, were desirious of acknowledging such disinterested services, and tho result was a present of a very handsome satchel made by Mr. Wiseman, Queen-street, Auckland, with a silver plate bearing the following inscription :—" Presented to H. E. Sharp by a few settlers of Waitakerei East and South and Waikomiti." —[Communicated.!
