UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCH.

• BAZAAR AND FAN r GY FAIR. A bazaar and fancy fair, in aid of the funds of the above church, was opened yesterday in the shop, in Queen-street, formerly occupied by Mrs. Butterworth, and more recently by the bazaar in aid of St. James's Presbyterian Church. The display is really good, the articles on sale being, for the most, pirt, the work of the ladies of the congregation ; and, considering the somewhat limited number of those who have time to devote to work of this sort, the display was in the highest degree creditable. There are three large stalls thoroughly stocked, the first of which i 3 presided over by Mesdames Hemus, Waterhouse, and Miss Hajes; the second by Mesdamee Taylor, Parker, Trig:;, and Misses Jackson and Adlington ; the third by Mrs. and Miss Bartley, and Mrs. Johnston. In addition to these there was a book-stall, presided over by Mr. Tattersall, jun. ; and Mesdames Major, Copeland, Sinclair, and Edwards, presided at the refreshment-stall'. There were no lotteries or lucky-baga, but there was a large attendance throughout the evening, and a great quantity of the goods were disposed of. They were, however, replaced by others, and a rich show was kept up all the time. It was opened at two o'clock yesterday by Mr. Coupland, who gave the history of the progress of tho church since it was opened in IS7i! in the Yotinf Men's Christian Association to the present, where the congregation occupies extensive church premises at the corner of Vincent and Pitt-street. It was to reduce the present debt of £SOO on those bnildings that the bazaar was got up, and we are glad to find that the effort is so far successful. The total receipts up to the present are £92 11s. The bazaar will open to-day and to-morrow at 10 o'clock a.m.
