MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.
A meeting of the creditors of Samuel McKaig, draper and clothier. Queen-street, was held yesterday, at the offices of Messrs. Russell and Devore, Shortland-street. The liabilities were set down at about £3500. The principal creditor, Messrs. W. Me Arthur, and Co., being secured by a hill of sale. After some conversation, this firm offered to purchase the estate at ten shillings in the pound, and the offer was aesepted by the creditors present. A meeting of creditors in the estate of W. H. .Niccol was held at the office of the trustee, Mr. Brooking. The trustee'e report shewed that the bankrupt had received £408, and had incurred additional debts of £320 within 11A months. There were no available assets, as the bankrupt had assigned his goods and chattels to hie wife. In reply to questions from various creditors, bankrupt said the money had been spent in "Yankee grab" and beer—a reply which elicited the strongest reprobation from those present. It was decided to suspend the bankrupt's certificate for three years.
