DEATH OF A LUNATIC : CORONER'S INQUEST.
Ax inquest was held yesterday afternoon, at the hospital, before Dr. Goldsboro' and a common Tory, of whom Heury Bay ward was chosen foreman, on the body of Maria Hinganui, a Maori woman, who died in the Female Lunatic Asylum on Tuesday, tbe 24th instant. After viewing the body, the following evidence was taken : —Dr. deposed that deceased was taken ill on the 20th instant, suffering from a severe attack of bronchitis and congestion of the lungs. She rallied until the 24th and then expired. She ha I been an inmate of the asylum since 17th Jnly, IS7G—She was not violent. Maria Martin, matron of the asylum, deposed that the deceased was ailing for the past nine months. She bad a very bad attack of bronchitis on the 20th instant.— The jury returned a verdict of " Death from natural causes."
