A public sale of rural waste lands of the Crown was held yesterday, at the Waste Lands office. Parliament-street, by Mr. D. A. Tole, Chief Commissioner. There wa3 a fair attendance, but few buyers. Tho following is the result :— Parish of Tuakau.—Lot 21, 85% lr 37p, bought by Mr. J. Walker at the upset price £171; lot 7G, 75a, bought by Mr. Poland at tho npaet price £93 las. Lot 20, 110 a 2r 2bp, upset prico £22110 a, was not sold. Parish of MANGATAWinnr.—Lot IS4, 40a, upset price £40, bought by Mr. Dilworth at £48. Parish of Kaheroa.—Lot 112, 39a "r ISp, bought by Mr. Frater at the upset price £40. Whangaroa Survey Distict. — Waitapu Block : ljlock S, section 1, -'t.S i, bought by Mr. Lennox at the upset price £38. Section 2 of the same block, containing 59a, the upset prico of whicli waa £59, was passed, there being no bid. Pimiu Survey District.—Puketutu Block, Whangarei District: Block 10, section 5, 50a, bought by Mr. Noabes, at the upset pricc £50. Four other blocks in this district, varying from 60a to 48a, were passed. Kawakawa Sukvet District.—Block 16, sections 1 and 2, 31a lr 3Gp, bought by Mr. Fairley at the upset price £32. Pabish of Waiwera. —West portion of lot 148, 40a, bought by Mr. Moffat at tho upset price £40. The total proceeds of the 'sale, exclusive ol the lease, were £807 15s.
