Over about 3 miles of hunting country. Nomination, 2sovs. ; acceptance, Gsova.— Eight started. After a magnificent race, Medora came in first, Gazelle second, and Baron third. Grey Momue, Lack Lomond, Don, and Victor also ran. Protest entered against the first and second horses by the rider of Baron, on the ground t'nat they did not go right round the coarse After a careful consideration by the stewards, the race was awarded to Baron, a result that gave general satisfaction. Maiden Steeplechase, of 7530v5.; second horse to save his stakes. Over the same tTir.se as the Handicap. Entrance fee, 3»ovs. Weight for age, as specified in theN.Z. X.S.C. rules. A maiden hor.se is one that has never won a steeplechase of the value of 20sovs. The winner of the Handicap to carry 71bs.— This race was won by Gazelle. Six started. It was another magnificent race, Gazelle funning and winning. The Abbess and Baron ran well. The jamping of Baron was much admired. Consolation Handicap Steeplechase of 3050v2., second horso to save his Btake3. Distance, about 1 J miles, over such coarse as the committee may appoint. Nomination, lsov. ; acceptance, Isov.—Mr. Mclver's Loch. Lomond, 1 ; Grey Momus, 2 ; Awahou, 3 ; Little-thought-of, 4. This was another good race. Awahou led for threequarters of the distance, when Mr. Mclver's horse came up, and forging ahead, ran in. A good race. Handicap Trot of 20sovs. Nomination, lsov. ; acceptance, 2sovs.—This raco waa Won by Little Nell, beating 6 others.
