The new steamer Glenel? is announced to sail for Tauranga this afternoon. The brigantine Oceola arrived in harbour yesterday morning from Timaru, with a large cargo of grain. The master reports sailing from Timaru on the 22nd ult., with light easterly winds and cairns, which continued until passing Banks's Peninsula. It then veered to the southward until off Cape Palliser, and shortly afterward went round to the northward, until making the East Cape on Saturday last. Across the Bay of Plenty fresh westerly breezes, until in the Gulf on Tuesday, when the wind died away, and the harbour was not made until yesterday. In our advertising columns will be found a notice calling for tenders for the raising of the a.3. Taupo, as she now lies at the mouth of Tauranga harbour. The r.dvertisement is very full, and is somewhat different to the l&st, inasmuch as the insurance committee desire information as to the mode the tenderer would adopt in raising the steamer, The new tenders are necessary, as we understand that Messrs. "Ware and Niccol, who had contracted to raise the vessel, have thrown up their contract.
