KAITANGATA COLLIERY EXPLOSION RELIEF COMMITTEE.
A first meeting of the committee appointed at a recent public ineetiug to take action to raise funds for the relief of the sufferers by the colliery explosion at; Kaitangata, Otago, was held on Saturday, in the Mayor's room* City Council ofHcies. There were present: Hia Worship the Mayor (in the chair), and Messrs. Larkins, Buddie, Murdoch, Clark, Taylor, and Ewington. The latter gentleman consented to act as secretary. The following gentlemen were added to the committee :—Messrs. J. C. Firth, H. Brett, J« L. Wilson, T. Morriu, the Right Kev fc Dr. Cowie, Bishop of Auckland ; Rev. J. Carries* Very Rev. Father Fyues, V. G.; Rev*. A. y • Webb, Rev. Mr. Bond, Mr. J. B. Ru33e"» Dr. Kenderdioe, Mr. W. J. Hurst, Mr. C. Stone, jun., the Mayors o Parnell, Onehunga, and Hamilton, 40 the Chairmen of the Poiisonby, K? r3 * ngahape, Eden Terrace, Eden, and market Highway Board?. Mr. J. r Clark was appointed treasiir«>r.
