THE GLASGOW BANK CULPRITS.
THE MOKEY MARKET. [keutee's special cablegrams.] London, February 1. The sentences on the prisoners charged with mal-practices in connection with the City of Glasgow Bank were : —Potter and Stronach were sentenced to eighteen mouths' imprisonment ; and Taylor, Jii"lis, Wright, Solomon, and Stewart to ejirht months' imprisonment. Counsel that they were not guilty of making false balances, and that there was no motive for falsifying. New Zealand fives are 1 per cent, higher. All colonial securities are buoyant. Consols, 07 ; market rate of discount, 2£ per cent. ; bank reserve, 12J millions.
