On receiving this report Mr. Chapman ie manned his buat and set off to the Damrah to river, some miles from Chandbally, in puris suit. After several hours search the vmijijcr ie was seen crossing the river, aud was allowed [y to gain the opposite bank. After crawling r- up the hank, it proceeded to make a meal of pt hia victim, and whilst so engaged, was, by a is- lucky shot, killed on the spot. The inof abeetor had it cut open, and was found in its sir stomach 26 pairs of brass anklets and bangles, le- weighing no less than 14 seers. There were ; a also two sets of gold ear-rings, and a number lis of toe-rings.
