Thamti>.—Eugene II«Ie enquired whether lands at Karaku, Thame?, will be opened for settlement. —Ic was agrted that the applicant be informed that the l.mds in question are not under the control of the Board.—The Thames County Council forwsnded a copy of a letter from F. A. Pulleine, suggesting that the County, or Botoughaud County, should offer a premium for the best ess iy sotting forth a scheme of settlement of the lands in the Upper Thames.—lt was agreed that the Bo ml would be happy to receive any suggestion from the Council, but could not bind themselves to adopt any.—James McGuire applied to be allowed to take up lands at Te Aroha on the defewed payment system. — The application, of coui>e, could not be entertained until the lauds \\eie declared open for selection. Waikoa. —John. Curtis applied for leave to purchase a surplus art :, in his selection at Wairau.—Permission was planted. Tisibek rem Railway I'unrosES.—:l>aniel Fallon, contractor f«»r the extension of the Waikato railway to Te \w.cmutu, put in an application for pernii<ai.m to cut and remove timber for railway pin poses from Firewood Creek, Ngaruawhua. —It was agreed to grant the permission at a certain fixed price. Te Akatea Block.—John McLeod applied for a lease of 10,000 acres of land between the Waikato Uiver and the East Coast. The secretary was instructed to inform the applicant that the land in question was not under the control of the Board. Kauri Twees—Duncan Matheson applied for permission to cut four kauri trees at Matapouri» Permission was grnnted, subject to the payment of £1 5s for each tree. This concluded the business.
