Becthim, Esq., J.P.] , Drunkenness and Vagrancy.—One persou f was punished for being drunk.—Elizabeth Beat, , au old offender, was charged with a breach of i tho Vagrant Act, by being a rogue and vaga- , bond, and having no lawful visible means of : support. She pleaded guilty. There was a long ; list of previous convictions against her, extending over the last four years. She was sentenced r to six months' imprisonment with hard labour. 3 Stealing Fruit. —Samuel Gibbons, a lad r about 12 years of age, was charged with stealing , peaches from the fruit-garden of Maria Scully, , Grafton Road. The value was laid at Cd. Sergeant-Major Mason asked for a remand until r Friday, to get the attendance of witnesses. The boy admitted taking the fruit. The case was • adjourned, and the boy liberated on his mother's 3 promise that she would have him in Court at half-past 10 o'clock on Friday,
