I cannot but regret thftt the Board should have considsred it necessary to expreSß the opinion that I should be held responsible so far as any costs incurred in the matter of the appeal are concerned, as I should never have either asked or expected the Board to bear those expenses under the circumstances of the case. I presumo that I am correct in attaching the above meaning to the resolution forwarded by you. It is possible that I may be wrong in this impression, a? the words used would no doubt bear a wider signification ; but as the amount of " loss sustained by the Board," owing to the failure to prosecute the appeal, is one which it would be impossible to arrive at, I have ventured to restrict its meaning in the manner above mentioned.—l am, &0., H. H. Lusk." —The letter was received. Ordinary Business.—The other business before the Board was of the ordinary character, —applications for grants for schools, fencing, furniture, &c., and appointments of teachers, but owiag to the small attendance, the greater portion of the business was deferred.
