Under and in pursuance of the powers and authorities vfsted in me by an Act of tMe Province of Auckland, inti'.uled, "The Highways Act, 1874," and by "The Abolition of the Provinces Act, 1875," I, George Augustus Constantino, Marqvis of Normanhy, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that I do hereby abolish the highway districts constituted under the said " Highways Act, 1874," anrt named the Pnkekohe Fast Highway District and the Pukekohe West Highway District. Commencing at the junction of roads at the northernmost ang'e of Lot .No. 43, of the Parish of heke, and bounded towA*«is the north-east by the Great South Road from the junction of roads beforenamed to the south-eastern angle of I-ot 51, of the p4ri h aforesaid; towards the south-east by the southeastern boundary of Lot No. 51 aforesaid to the southwestern boundary of the Parish cf Maungitawhiri; again towards the north-east by the south-westera boundary of the Parish of Maungatawhiri aforesaid, and thence by the stid parish boundary to the Waikato liiver; towards the j-outh-east and south by the Wsikato River afo»<mid to the southern termination of a line bearing due south from tho south-western angle of Lot 1. Parish of Tuakau; towards the west by the aforesaid line to the south-westers angle of the aforesaid Lot 1; ther.ee by the western and northern boundaries of that lot by the centre of a road formi s part of the north eastern boundary of Lot 2, f'arish of Tuakau; thence by the oastern bouudary of Lot 5, of tho aforesaid parish, to its intersection with the WhVkaplpl Stream; thence by that stream to its confluence with the Oiutainui Stream, and by that stream to the south-western corner of Lot 36, Parish of Pukekohe, the said corr er being also a point of intersection by the Auckland and Wnikato Railway; thonce

I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that I do hereby bring the said "Hi£hways Act. 187-1," into operation in the Puk'kohe East Highway District; and I further notify that I do hereby appoint the twentieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-sight, at three o'clock p.m.. at the School-bonse, Harrisville, to be tho d »y, hour, and place for the first meeting of rate* payers for the said district; and I appoint Benjamin Harbis to be Chairman of such meeting. SCHEDULE, Commencing at the south-western angle of Allotment No. ti9, of the Parish of Karaka, and being bounded toward* the north by the southern boundary of Allotment No. 60 aforesaid and the southern boundaries of Lots 70 and 82, to the south-eastern angle of Lot 82 last-named, all of the Parish of Karaka aforesaid : tswards the east by the eastern beundarics of Lots Nos. 3. IV, and 14, of the Parish ofPukekohe; therce by the southern boundaries of Lot 14 aforesaid and Lot 4, of the Parish of Pukekoho aforesaid ; thence by part of the eastern and southern boundaries of Lot 118, of Section 1, Pukekoho Settlement, to lha Auckland and Waikato Railway ; thence by tbat railway to the south-western corner of Lot 86, Parish of Pukfkohe, at its intersection with tho Otutainni Stream ; thence by that stream to its confluence with the Whakapipi stream, and thence by that stream to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Lot No. 5, Parish of Tuakau ; thenso by that boundary and by the centre of a road forming part of the north-fastern boundary of Lot 2, of tho samo parish, to the northern boundary of Lot 1, Parish of Tunkau aforesaid; thence by the western boundary of tho aforesaid Lot 1 to its southwestern angle ; and thence by a line runniog due south to the Waikato hiver; towards the South by the Waikato Rtvni, from the southern termination of tbe line last described to the eastern boundary of the Parish of Puni; and towards the west by the eastern and part of tho north-eastern boundaries of the Parish of Puoi aforesaid to the south-western angle of Lot No. 38, of the Parish of Pukekohe ; thence by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Lot S3, to the south-west angle of Lot No. 60, of tbe Parish of ffaraka, at the point of commencement.
