At the Haymarket on Friday last a larger number of good horses than usual were entered for sale, and nearly all sold, but at lower values than of late. Tho 13 horsea from Napier were a really good lot —youn# and sound—and sold at prices ranging trom £20 to £50. Strong, unbroken, active colts, three-years-old, brought from £15 to £2G ; medium draught yearlings and two-year-olds, £0 to £12 ; staunch draught horses, £26 to £30; strong hacks. £14 10s to £18; light riding horses, £5 to £10 each.

At the Remuera. yards, on Thursday, dairy cows were represented in average numbers, and without alteration in value. Store stock scare and at very low price*. Fat cattle were yarded in average numbers, 120 head being sold to the trade at tho following prices : Thomas Rogers, 10 head, £S 4s ; .Tames Robertson, 9 head, £S 7s Gd : Awitu, 37 head, £S 10s Cd; liichard Kelly, 31 head, £10 15s ; and other small lots at fchf> same rate, being about 21s to 23s the lOOlbs. Horses : The supply has been large, but the demand was scarcely sufficient, as above the average number were entered for disposal by auction on Friday, and most of the lots were passed at satisfactory rates; bidding lacked spirit, and a few horses were withdrawn for higher prices, but were nearly all afterwards disposed of. We quote, hacks. £G to £10; light harness horses from £12 to £0 15s. Cattle : There has been no marked change in the market, with exception of those for slaughter, which receded in value from 2s (Id to 5s per 1001b. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, there was an average supply and steady competition, but vendors of fat stock had to submit to a decline of fully 10s per head.
