In compliance with the representations of the committee, lots 6, 8, and 10, section 8, of unoccupied reserves in Otahuhu, have been converted into school reserves by the Government, and an allotment at the corner of the Great South Road has been purchased by the committee from Mr. Fairburn for £30, as a school site, besides an adjoining lot, with building erected thereon, for £65, intended ae a teacher's residence. The committee have not yet collected the £75 which the Board of Education require the district to contribute before giving a grant of £175 towards the cost of erecting a new school-house, and the committee express a hope that the required sum may be quickly forthcoming, in order that the new schoolhouse may be built without delay.
