KAWA KAWA.
We learn by telegram that the new hall built by the natives at Kawa Kawa was opened on the evening of the 24th inst. with great rejoicing. The opening was conducted in European fashion. Six hundred tickets to a grand dinner and ball were issaed and both passed off very satisfactorily. Marsh Brown Kawiti presided. The Hall has been erected at a. cost o£ £600. -""Of this amount £500 has been raised by subscriptions from the Maoris and £100 was contributed by the Government upon the condition that the building may be used when required as a Native Land's or Resident Magistrate's Court." ,
