"WRECK OP THE STEAMER BANSHEE OYER 17 LIVES LOST. MORE MISSING. [ejress agency.] BRISBANE, Thursday, March 23. The Banshee steamer, from Townsville ti 'Cookfcown, is a total wreck on Hinchinsbrool Island, 15 miles from Cardwell. Seventeen, persons besides some stowawayi were drowned. Six individuals left th< island to go to Cardwell, but thereis no news of their arrival. "The vessel is'abandoned. The survivors have been landed at Townsville by the Spunkie schooner, after they had been two days on the island without food.
