COMMERCIAL.
Nsw Zealand Herald Office, Tuesday evening. The Customs duties collected to-day amounted to £572 3s lid. Messrs. B. Tonks and Co. held an auction sale to-day of Fiji sugars. About 40 tons were quitted, at prices which must prove satisfactory to the shippers. Seven or eight different samples were submitted, ranging from dark to light. Very keen competition ensue 3, shewing the favour with which Jftji sugars are received in this market. 'Xhe prices realised pec ton in bond, were as followo :—£23, £25 ss, £25 103, £28, £28 12s 6d, £29, £29 2s Gd. A parcel of Provincial maize was submitted, which realised 3s 6d per bushel.
