SPECULATIONS ON CREATION.

To the Editor of the Herald. Sm, —Your rcsnm6 of the various imaginary schemes of " Creation," lately propounded in Auckland; ought to be, if it is not appreciated. Apart from all the physical and scientific proofs that coula be brought to bear to refute any or all of fbe propositions' that have been set forth, surely every one of the controvers'onalists has lost sight of " Creation," properly Bpeaking, in the heat of argument, or what, I think, in more correctly /*l>evelopmenfc." I argue, from analogy, that "Creation" is far beyond all human ken,-and thus : In the beginning God created the Earth. In the .same beginning also existed the " Word," without -whom was nothing made that was'made. If,'as Christians, we believe in'the eternity of 'Christ oVthat of God,' with,. Whom Hβ was; and if we believe the Earth to hare been created "in the beginning," however developed after, v hat right have we, finite minds, 'to look into and;-speculate on the deeds of the Infinite; or, with onr very limited knowledge of time, to attempt to fix periods of eternity? This,, amongst other matters, is, I think, deserving of consideration.—l am, &'c, ' :i T. H. February 28, 1870.
