POLICE COURT.—Wednesday.

[BeloJe Messrs. Nowman and Co&gravo, J.P.*s-3 DnuNKEirsKss.—Two persons, for this offence, were fined 5s each. Threatening Language.—Thomas Mulvaney was charged with using threatening language towards Nicholas Mulvaney, hia son on the 2Sth inst. Upon the charge being proved, the prisonprwas ordered to find bail, himself in £50 and two sureties in £25 each* to keep the peace for three months. Larceny.—Mary Flanaghau was charge J with the larceny of a pair of boots, value ss, the property of XeilHudson. The prosecutor deposed that he resided in Wyndham-street, where he saw the prisoner, on Tuesday evening, put something under her shawl. He followed her to a public-house in Chapelstreet, when, upon being accosted, she gave up the boots. He then gave her inEo custody. The Bench sentenced the woman to three months' imprisonment with hard labour. Lunacy.—Edward Kennedy was again brought before the Court, having in the meantime been examined by Drs. ijfcockwell and Ellis, upon whoso medical testimony he was now committed to the Asylum for madicafl treatment. Felony.—William Baton, who was also known by a variety of other names, was charged with stealing a gokl watch, value £9, the property of James lleCornrick, on Christmas uigkt. The prisoner denied the charge. The prosecutor deposed that ho was a miner, lodging at Coromandel, but: was now lodging at the Market lEotel. On Christmas night ho went to bed, leaving hi 3 watch in the pocket of his vest. Next moraing he found the watcli missing, and gava information to Detective Jeffrey, who apprehended the accused, and found the watch in his possession. Detective Jeffrey proved having been informed of the robbery, when he suspected the accused. After some difficulty he found the watch concealed about his person. The prisener, when called upon for his defence, wished to the case summarily disposed of. The Bench conceded, and sentenced him to twelvemonths' imprisonment with hard labour.
