THE STREETS.
To the Editor of tlie Herald.
Sir, —Allow me through your columns to draw the attention of our civic authorities to what I think would be an improvement in their method of keeping the streets clean. At present the water-carts convert the dust and dung into mud, which is carried on to the pavements, and produces a heavy, unpleasant odour. The streets should be kept clear from these accumulations of dust by a more frequent use of the brushing machine j less water would then be required.—.l am, &c, Cities.
