Wo aro pleased to state that Messrs. K. And Jl. Isaacs Aro not only able to obtain a pood audience and pood prices for {ho New Zealand Shipping Company, but ar» equally successful in disposing of stores in ships consigned by Messrs. fchaw, Savillo and Co. Mr. Slbbin sold at the Corner Mart, by order of tl:c Registrar of tho Supremo Court, an allotment with GO feet frontage to Lincoln-street and a six-roomed houso thereon, for the sum of £180. Tho purchaser was Mr. Alexander, solicitor. There was a good attendance at Messrs. Cochrane and Son's sale of law and miscellaneous literature to-day, and the book 9 brought fair prices. Melbourne.—Tho Arpus of tho 12th reports: — Flour can scarcely be quoted over £10 17s Cd to £11, and thero is very little doing oven nt that, no inclina~ tion to operato being evlnccd. Wheat Is likewise less inquired for. and sales are not so readily made. Beat quality of Victoriau Is offering at r>s 4d to 5s Cd. A parcel" of SOO bags Adelaide has been placed at 5s 5d net. Oats aro steadier, and feeding qualities aro saleable, according to sample, at from Ss Cd to 3s lOd. Maize is Arm at up to 4s lOd; there is a good enquiry, but no large lines aro taken up at this quotation. Sugars are still In favour: a good enquiry is experienced. Teas aro in fair trade demand. Wo learu of tho quittance of ono or two lines of low medium congous in half-chests atls4d. Candles pre-ent a firm aspect. In dried fruits, currants are still in request at our quotation of 6J4. Brandies are marked by tho utmost dullnoss; there la no enquiry, and wo have no business of any description to report. Svr-NEY.—The S.Af. Herald of lGth reports: The import markets were qub*t. Bulk ale in request. The balance of Melviu's, in agents' hands, was cleared at a full figure. Hennessv's case brandy Arm, with sales at 335. Holders of powder are tlriuer, owing to the reduction in 6tocks and light shipments atioat. Messrs. Carey, Giles and Co. sdd bv auction a quantity of damaged fruits aud other faulty goods at fair prices. Ration sugars at £22 to £*23. At Messrs. Gilchrist and Weston's sa'e of assets in tho estAte of Mr. Wearne, miller, flour sold at £10 <s*. and improved prices were obtained for wheat, some of which being dressed, brought a price apparently much above the market.
