Crispe proposed that the rate be id. in the £ on the value to sell, as before ; seconded by Mr. Salisbury. Mr. C. Kavanagh moved, as an amendment, that the rate be Id. in the £ ; seconded by Mr. W. Kerr. Somo little discussion took place upon the amendment, which, upon being put, was lost by 17 to 5 votes. Major Lusk made a few remarks in favour of county boards as heads to the small boards. Mr. J. Thompson, in a few prefatory remarks, moved that the outgoing trustees, who had worked so harmoniously amongst themselves, and so thoroughly well for the district, should be re-elected; seconded by Mr. Matthews. Some amendment was proposed by Mr. C. Kavanagh, but, upon being put to the meeting, the original motion was carried by a large majority, and Messrs. H. Crispe, Joseph Clarke, H. H. HAL H. Maunder, and J. Finlay, were reappointed as trustees, and Mr. H. Crispe was again appointed chairman of trustees. Major Lusk and Mr. G. G. Walters were again appointed auditors, and Mr. C. Watt and Mr. J. Keith as fence-viewers. The chairman expressed his regret that a more perfect unanimity did not exist between the trustees of adjacent boards, which would be of so much benefit to adjoining districts. Thanks were voted to the chairman, and thus concluded a most quiet and really useful meeting without any of that unseemly wrangling which has distinguished many meetings of other boards. —[Correspondent.]
