THE NETTING MAIIKET, Since the appearance of the great spriug handicaps, a considerable amount of wagering has been done, the most important being the demonstration in favour of Kingsborough and Sterling for the Metropolitan, tor 1000 to 100 was taken about each of them directly the weights were known, and thero were plenty of takers at the price. Subsequently Kingsborough improved a point or two, and •">OO to (i 0 was booked ; another thousand also being pencilled down about Sterling at to 1. Previous to the appearance of the weights for the Melbourne Cup, (loldsbrough and Kingsborough were backed ac 1000 to 50 each, but they have since eased a bit. A good deal of money lias been invested on Echo at 100 to 3, and many others have received support at the name price. For tho Champion Race, Goldsbrougn and Kingsborough arc at 100 to 12 each, aud The Diver and Lurline now ami then have a tenner invested on their behalf at 10 to 1. The Rose de Florence colt has also been introduced to the quotations, 1000 to 100 having beon taken in one hand ; and Melbourne has been backed at 200 to IS, and Maid of All Work at 300 to -0. In tho double for tho Metropolitan and Cup there has been a run on Kingsborough and Kcho, and sterling and Keho, the layers tiring before tho takers.
