To . -jo Editor of tlie HERALD. Sir, —Some time ago Mr. Beckham liifc upon an ingenious method of clearing the " loafers' corner" in the Police Court by hinting concerning the Education Tax. He might have gone further, and stated that in future every drunkard brought before him and lined, should be asked if he had paid the tax, and if not, a collector might be in attendance to receive his £1 or 10s., as the case may be. jow, Mr. Carr, here is practical legislation at last.—l am, &c., Education-.
