Tm: monthly meeting of the above society took place at three o'clock on Tucsdav, at llit? Criterion Hotel, Otahuhu, under the presidency of William (loodfellov.-, Ks<j.—• After the minutes were read and continued Mr. 11. S. Andrews moved the following resolution, which was supported hy Messrs. Woodward, (JoodfelJow, Talvert, a id others, ami carried unananimously " That His Honor the Superintendent be communicated with, ami respectfully requested to appoint Mr. K. C. Lewis, the present I>i«triet Inspector, to be sole Inspector of .Sheep for the Auckland District, with power t i appoint his own assistants ; and that lie be made wholly responsible for the introduction of diseased sheep. Also, to inform His Honor that it is an imperative necessity that all sheep entering tiiis district by land or water should be guaranteed, as without uhich it Jt:n been proved a useless expeise. And further, to call his Honor's attention to the fact that the various Sheep Acts provide only for the inspection of sheep from other provinces, and do not provide for inspection of sheep coining into the district from any other parts of the province, either by land or coastwise."--An auditor was appointed in place of Mr. Goodfellow, who, since the annual meeting, has been chosen vice president- of the society, ami the monthly meeting in March made spccial to
take into consideraticn the re'eent appointment of Inspector of Cattle to the port of Auckland, which meeting will take place in Aucklaud. —This concluded the business, and tho meeting eeparated.
