ST. PAUL'S RESTORATION.

To the Kditor of the Herald. Sir, —In honor of the great Apostle, and in harmony with the situation, 1 would suggest a holder action, by setting on foot here and at home a collection towards a fund for the erection of a l~'t'' s'nn'ih of St. Paul's Cathedral in London ; and let us have at once a Corinthian Temple characteristic of the noble name and associations it is intended to commemorate. Sir Christopher \\ ren would have esteemed a climate like ours, as well as the beauty of our position with its numberless choice sites, as the very touches of nature essential in giving that Italian effect to the many splendid churches and institutions of that branch of art — everywhere gracing his memory throughout the great metropolis and its environs. Don't let us throw away the privilege we hold, by perpetuating a mistake in spending money to maintain an ugly mass that would batlle the skill of the most artistic to do anything with. But put an appeal with a commensurate merit, and it will bring the best result. —I am, &c., An Architect.
