GOOD TEMPLARISM.
To the Editor of the Heiiald. Snt,—ln reply to the .so-called "Good Templar" for coupling his facts, I am sure that the person who takes such precautions to correct himself cannot be a Good Templar. What does he mean? First, wo have a general charge that some persons unduly desire eminence. This seems to me a common failing. Then the public are deterred from joining, because they do not approve of what is alleged to bb done; and this ii written of a society to whos» meetings the public have 110 access. I oonfess my inability to follow "Good Templar" either in his
charges or deductions, but this- I can say, that wa have in our lodges numbers who —though fined and imprisoned by the State without avail—have been restored to sobriety and happiness through the influence of the order, aud say while you review our failures do not forget our successes, and then if you can do better, our wish will be, may success crown your efforts.—l am, &c., E. Carr.
