Tiie Philharmonic Society gave a concert in the Court-house, on the evening of the 27th ult. The house was well filled, though not so crowded as usual, owing to several entertainments of that kind by performers from Auckland having lately taken place. The following programme was gone through, and the audience by their enthusiastic plaudits shewed unmistakably their appreciation of the efforts of the performers. As usual with mixed audiences, the comic element was their great delight. The following was the programme : —Waltz, band ; glee, " Awake, -'Eolian Lyre," company; song and chorus, "Never Forget the Dear Ones," Mr. J. Key to; song, " We'd Better Bide a Wee," Miss Laura Mair; piano solo, "The Musical Box," Miss Taylor; part song, "Of a' the Airts," company ; piano duet, "The Canary Quadrilles," the Misses Taylor ; song, " Annie Laurie," Miss Laura Mair; polka, "Circassian," band; song, " Not to be sneezed at," Mr. 11. Keyte; operatic chorus, " Fair shines the moon tonight," company. Part 2: Waltz, "The Sea Shells," band; selection, "Oh, Happy Fair," company ; song, "What will they say in England," Miss Laura Mair; piano solo, "The Liquid Gem," Miss Jessie Taylor: song, "The Village Blacksmith," Mr. C. Lee; Welsh part: song, "Sweeter than the Breath of Summer," company ; song, "John Grumlie," Mr. James Spence; polka, "The Admired National," band ; song, " Beautiful Dreams," Miss Laura Mair ; song, "The Kiss on the Stairs," Mr. R.
