[Before Thos* Beckham, 2£sq., E.M.J DBtnrKEiTNESs.—Six persons were punished for the offence of drunkenness. Labci;n? op a Lettke.—Sarah Ann Bell »as brought up on remand, charged with •tealing a letter containing £100 odd, the property of the General Post-office. Mr. tfrookfieia applied to have the case remanded, »» one of the principal witnes-ses was not in attendance. He also applied for a warrant to compel a witness at Tapu to attend. The Jjourt stated that on an affidavit being filed to the effect that it was necessary for the witness to be in attendance in proceeding *ith the case, a warrant should be issued, ■the cage was[adjoumed|to "Wednesday|uext.
