POLICE COURT.— Saturday.

[Before Thomas Beckham, Esq., R.M.] Drunkenness. —Three persons for this offence were punished in the usual manner. Vagrancst.—Mary Howley, for being an incorrigible rogue and vagabond, and having no lawful means of support, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labor. —John Walsh, for being found by night without, lawful excuse on tho premises of Mr. Harris, in Custom-house street, on the 23rd inst., was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment with hurd labour.—Annie Miller and Mary Storey were charged with being without lawful means of support, and also behaving in a riotous roaauer in Queen-street, on the 23rd inst. Both the prisoners pleaded guilty. The case against Mary Storey was withdrawn, as she had not been previously convicted. The other prisoner was sentonced to seven daye* imprisonment with hard labour. Larceny.—Joe Kanaka, a Maori, was charged with stealing four oranges, value Bd. Mr. Brown acted as interpreter. Tho man pleaded guilty, but said that he had been drinking, and that was why he did it. Tho prisoner was told that drinking did not justify his action, and he was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment.—John Wilson was charged with stealing a watch value £1, the property of John Glare. This case was adjourned until Tuesday next.
