[pnoll OUR OWN COKBE3PONDENT.J TIUS adjourned meeting of the ratepayers of the above educational district was held in Mr. Thomas Kemp's house, on Saturday, tlie 17th instant, at 2 p.m. There was a great turn-out, especially from the Turanga side of the district. The settlers in that quarter seem all alive to take advantage of the Education Act. Thero was a considerable amount of discussion as to whether they should elect a school committee, or apply for the boundnriee of the district to bo altered, aa the Turanga people say tlie J hare enough. scholars for one teacher among themselves, without being joined to the Valley. On the Chairman requesting them to come to some conclusion on the matter, it was moved by Mr. Mack ay } &&&■ seconded by Mr. Tibbutt, "That a committee be elected, • which reaulted in the following gentlemen > being elected a school committee, tiz., Mr. John Mackay, Mr. Alfred Tibbutt, Mr. S. H. I Iteid, Mr. Adam Barclay, and Mr. John - Lord. The committee elected Air. A. Tibbutt r chairman, una Ml*. A. Barclay secretary.
