PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, COROMANDEL.

OPENING SERVICES AND SOIREE. On Sunday morning, service was held for the first time in the new Presbyterian Church, King's Road, which has just been completed. The Rev. J. Hill, from the Thames, conducted the worship both in the morning and the evening, and preached both timeß also. The building is a neat little structure, capable of seating from 180 to 200 persons, and was filled well at both services, but more particularly in tho evening, the collections for the day amounting to £7 3s 9d. Yesterday evening, a soiree was held in the Coromandel Hall, which was nicely decorated for the occasion, and an abundance of good things were provided and dispensed by Mesdames Rosie,Reid,McGregor, King; MissesGiltnour. I he attendance was very good, though no doubt it was materially affected by the showers which fell during the afternoon and just before lea, and which wcro quite sufficient to make the roads greasy aud uncomfortable. After those present had disposed of as much as they possibly could manage (and they were pretty successful), an ad journment took place to the church, and the chair was taken by the Rer. Mr. Tait, who read resolutions passed by the committee, consisting of votes of thanks to Mr. John Kerr for his gift of £100; to thoso who mb" _ ; ibed to the building fund ; to the Eveni. jSi . for advertising free; aud to Mra. Boyd for the use of her hall. The meeting was addressed by the Rers. Mesars. Tait, Bruce, Williamß, and Hill, the intervals being filled i " tv tho choir, who performed nearly all through ..he evening.
